Construction work for the Creative Campus Phase 2 project on Cleveland Avenue is taking place. The work area is between East Long Street and I-670. Work includes: new underground utilities, including telecommunication duct and manholes; water line work; storm sewer work; new sidewalks; planters; street lighting; and traffic signals. New asphalt pavement will also be installed between East Long Street and to a point approximately 400’ north of Mt Vernon Avenue.
Various intermittent restrictions and closures are taking place. Construction activities are schedule to continue through October 2019.
Cleveland Avenue between Naghten and East Long Street will be one-way southbound traffic. Traffic in both directions with two lanes will be maintained north of Naghten to I-670.
The detour for northbound Cleveland Avenue traffic will from Broad Street or East Long Street, north on Grant Avenue, and east on Naghten Street to Cleveland Avenue.
Project highlights include:
Building sidewalks, Americans with Disabilities Act-compliant curb ramps and curb extensions
Resurfacing the roadway
Adding brick crosswalks
Improving storm sewers and water lines
Planting street trees and landscaping
Upgrading street lighting, traffic signals, crosswalk signals and signage
