State and local investigators are actively working to determine the cause and origin of the Sunday, June 10 explosion at 1073 E. 125th Street in East Cleveland.
The Cleveland Fire Department and East Cleveland Fire Department were called to the scene around 1 p.m. Sunday after reports of an explosion. Upon arrival, crews found the home and the two adjacent structures demolished, with debris found as far as two blocks away. Crews found one deceased victim, and another individual who was seriously injured. The explosion damaged multiple structures in the area, rendering some uninhabitable.
The investigation into the origin and cause of the incident continues and is being conducted jointly by the State Fire Marshal’s office, the East Cleveland Fire Department and the East Cleveland Police Department.
